                                                                  Malin Kundang

Once upon a time, in the coastal area of sumatra, lives a mother and his son named  malin kundang. They were a poor family. Malin is a good boy, every day, he always helped his mother to meet their basic needs .

One day, malin met a wealthy merchant. The merchants are interested in malin because he is diligent and persevering. The merchants invites malin to go with him to trade. Because malin wanted to change his fate, malin agreed. He also parted with his mother and going to trade with the merchants.

After a few years,

finally malin be a successful entrepreneur. He is very thankful for the merchants who have helped him. The merchant, offering malin to marry his daughter. As a favor, malin agreed, and he married the daughter of a rich merchant.

One day, malin and his wife sailed to a place that malin kundang hometowns. There they met an old woman who turns malin’s own mother. Malin Kundang who feel embarrassed, ultimately did not recognize the woman as his mother. He even expel his own mother. Hearing statement and treated arbitrarily by his son, the mother of malin kundang is very angry. He did not expect him to be rebellious child, then malin's mother tipped his hand, saying "oh god, if he my son, i curse him became a stone." malin's mother goes away with sad feelings.

Malin kundang and his wife departed shortly after visiting the hometown.soon after departed, the calm, nice weather suddenly changed. The winds roared fierce and storms come to destroy the ship kundang. Malin himself knows that it might be the curse from his own mother. That makes malin prays, to beg a mercy from the god. But it was too late. After that malin and his wife’s body slowly becomes rigid and in time they finally shaped into a rock. Malin's mothers feel sorry about her son's fate.
